Portland is feeling almost like autumn - a bit cooler in the mornings and evenings, and we are even noticing some colored leaves on some trees!
We hope you are enjoying this late summer or early autumn where you are.
This coming Sunday is a very special day for us at Oregon Buddhist Temple.
Buddhist Churches of America (which we are a part of) is celebrating its 125th Anniversary, 800 years of the Jodo Shinshu teaching, and 650 years since Shinran Shonin's birth with a very special service at 10am, Pacific. This commemorative service will be televised from the Buddhist Church of San Francisco.
Oregon Buddhist Temple will have the doors open for you to come to the temple to watch the special live stream together (and telethon to follow) at the temple. You can come to offer incense, and be together with your fellow sangha to watch the special service. Or you are welcome to watch the YouTube Live Stream from comfort of your home as well.
