SOLVE Neighborhood Clean Up

"Take Away the Dirt. Sweep Away the Dust"

Rev. Ron Kobata, in his Dharma message this Sunday November10th, shared with us the story of Culapanthaka, who was heartbroken for not being able to grasp the teachings to become a monk, was told by the Buddha to just keep cleaning the monastery.

The Buddha told him to recite "Take away the dirt, sweep away the dust" during his cleaning. Culapanthaka kept reciting and cleaning.

After cleaning diligently for a long time, he realized, that the outside dirt and dust he was cleaning was at the same time, the ignorance, anger and greed that needed to be cleansed inside of him.

Rev. Kobata along with some sangha leaders, had led the first OBT @SOLVE event on Saturday morning, November 9th. More than 30 people attended in spite of the chilly overcast weather, to

"Take away the dirt, and sweep away the dust".

Thank you to everyone who participated to sweep away the dust together.

Thanks to your efforts, we have a full bin of swept away dirt, and a cleaner neighborhood today.
