DHARMA SCHOOL

Dharma School is religious instruction for children and teens ages 2 - 18. These classes begin after service on Sunday, usually 11:00 am, and run for about 45 minutes and include age appropriate lessons and fun activities.
There are 5 classes:
Lumbini - preschool - kindergarten (ages 2 - 5)Bodhi - grades 1 -3 (ages 6 - 8)
Sangha - grades 4 - 5 (ages 9 - 12)
Prajna - grades 6 - 8 (ages 12 - 14)
Dana - grades 9 - 12 (ages 14 - 18)
Children may visit any class without enrolling. Parents are welcome to visit class with their children.
The 2012 - 2013 school year begins Sunday September 9, 2012 with an all-temple potluck picnic at Kenilworth Park located at SE 34th Ave & Holgate. Time: 10:00 am - 12:30 pm.

NIRVANA DAY (Sunday February 6, 2011): Nirvana Day is an annual Buddhist festival that remembers the death of the Buddha when he reached Nirvana at the age of 80. It is also known as Parinirvana Day. It is celebrated by some Buddhists on February 15th. Some tell a story that when the Buddha died all the animals came to his side. They too mourned the loss of the Buddha.
